6 Day/5 Night Tanzania Camping Safari
Tarangire, Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, and Lake Manyara
Day 0: Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport and transport to hotel
Day 1: Tarangire National Park
After breakfast and checkout of hotel in Moshi, your private safari guide will meet you to begin travel to Tarangire National Park. Travel is in a custom designed 4x4 safari vehicle, complete with window seats and an open roof for perfect game viewing. Stop for bush lunch inside Tarangire National Park. After lunch, you will enter Tarangire National Park, which is named for the Tarangire River. During the dry season, migratory animals return to the Tarangire River, however there is an abundance of big game animals year round. Tarangire is most famous for its elephant population, and is home to many animals including wildebeest, giraffe, zebra, gazelle, buffalo, lion, waterbuck, and eland. There are also excellent opportunities to see a large number of birds that frequent the river banks. After a day of safariing, you will retire to your campsite to relax and enjoy a beautiful African sunset and a delicious dinner.
Day 2: Tarangire National Park/Serengeti National Park
The day starts early with a game drive inside Tarangire National Park and then return to the campsite for breakfast. After breakfast, you will begin the drive to Serengeti National Park, home of the famous Serengeti Plains and some of the best wildlife viewing areas. The Serengeti is famous for the annual wildebeest migration and high population of predators animals such as the lion, cheetah and leopard. Other sightings will include elephants, giraffes, hippos, crocodiles, hyenas, small mammals and a variety of birds.
You will enjoy a hot lunch at the Serengeti Naabi Gate. Game viewing is prevalent on the way to the campsite. Once at the campsite, you will experience a beautiful sunset while enjoying a cup of African coffee or a glass of wine or beer. The day ends at the campsite with relaxation and a delicious dinner.
Day 3: Serengeti National Park
Today is a full-day of game viewing in Serengeti National Park. Departure is right after breakfast and you will continue to experience the vastness of the Serengeti plains and enjoy wildlife up close. A stop at mid-day for a hot bush lunch before returning to more game viewing. In the early evening, you will return to the campsite for relaxation and dinner.
Day 4: Serengeti National Park
Today is a another full-day of game viewing in Serengeti National Park. Departure is right after breakfast and you will continue to experience the vastness of the Serengeti plains and enjoy wildlife up close. A stop at mid-day for a hot bush lunch before returning to more game viewing. In the early evening, you will return to the campsite for relaxation and dinner.
Day 5: Ngorongoro Conservation Area
After breakfast, you will continue game viewing as you depart the Serengeti and head to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The Ngorongoro Conservation Area is famous for the black rhino and high population of spotted hyenas and jackals. You will find excellent close up game viewing of rhinos, lions, wildebeest, hyenas, monkeys, hippos, elephants, zebras and many water birds. You will enjoy a hot bush lunch. Early evening arrival at campsite for relaxation and delicious dinner.
Day 6: Lake Manyara National Airport/Kilimanjaro Airport
After breakfast, you will head to Lake Manyara National Park. Lake Manyara is the seventh largest lake in Tanzania and is also a shallow soda or alkaline lake, famous for many species of water birds. During the dry season, when the lake starts to dry up, grasslands appear in the mudflats along the shore, attracting many animals. Bushwack, flamingos, elephants, lion, buffalo, and hippos.
Picnic lunch will be provided. Dinner on your own.
Late in the day a return to Kilimanjaro International Airport. If departure is scheduled for next day, accommodations can be included by request and at an additional cost.
